Description
This picture is a thought-child of Boards of Canada. I believe I was sitting in a math class one day when I had the interesting image come to my mind. The emotion was
spawned from the dullness of my days at school. I had also just watched Batman the Dark Knight, and the Joker's insanity inspired me. My goal was to solidify the strangeness
of the emotions I was feeling. Later I realized that I had an underlying motive behind this picture; to make the average person feel uncomfortable when they look at it. I
think this achieves that very well. On the outside it is intended to represent an eternal struggle between two forces, whether that be human, good and evil, gravity and dark
matter, or whatever. One can't be without the other but they hate each other. Perhaps and analogy of a marriage gone bad or friends pretending to be friends still. The strange
heart shaped in the river and the actual heart are to show that love is the core and why the struggle is happening. The Heart just added a more morbid feel to it which I like.
